Heart and Stroke Report Card

Residents of northwestern Ontario are more overweight and have higher blood pressure thanany other region in Canada.

That was one of the findings in the 2010 report from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dr. Greg Ross from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine says there are other disturbing trends contained in the report.

Ross says smoking, diabetes and physical inactivity are also risk factors that are putting younger Canadians at risk of heart disease.
