A private members bill has been introduced at Queen's Park to prevent fixed price contracts for residential customers.
The Bill was introduced yesterday by Kenora-Rainy River M.P.P. Sarah Campbell.
She says the bill is really aimed at unscrupulous electricity retailers.
Campbell says a recent report by Ontario's Auditor General found that approximately 15 per cent of the province’s customers are currently signed up with a private retailer and are paying 35 to 65 per cent more for the electricity.
