Mining Protest

A First Nation in northwestern Ontario is expected to set up barriers today at airstrips to block exploration activity at what could be the world's biggest source of stainless steel.

Marten Falls Chief Eli Moonias says he is frustrated that somecompanies working at the Ring of Fire chromite deposit are ignoring his community's efforts to benefit from the development.

He says they want them to use their air strip and winter road atthe fly-in reserve 500 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay.

Moonias says they are not against mining and want to do business with the companies.
