LHIN's Announces funding for aboriginal elders

The Kenora Chiefs Advisory is getting funding from the Northwest Local Health Integration Network to help aboriginal elders stay in their homes.

The local group is one of seven across the region to get funding.

Just over 140 thousand dollars will go towards a new project that provide home maintenance service and home visits.

The money will also give safety and support services training to 100 elders in four communities near Kenora.

The Northwest LHIN's has doled out over 500 thousand dollars for aborigianal community
support services.
