A three goal barrage with just over a minute left in the game propelled the Beaver Brae Broncos to a 4-2 win over the Dryden Eagles in the Boys High School Hockey opener yesterday.
The Broncos spotted the visiting Eagles an early 1-0 lead before Joel Gordon scored late in the second.
Chris Hrabec tied the game with a shorthanded marker with 1:05 left to play, before Curtis Zilinski recorded the winner 11-seconds later.
Joel Gordon iced the game with an empty-netter, his second of the game.
The Broncos outshot the Eagles 37-28.
In Girls action, the Beaver Brae Broncos held on to beat the Fort Frances Muskies 3-1 at the Keewatin Arena.
Haley Moncrief, Erin Gasparini and Sam Smith scored for the Broncos, who improved their
record to 2-0 in league play.
