Hospital Presentation to Province

The provincial government is being asked to maintain funding for hospitals in northwestern Ontario.

Hospitals in Kenora, Dryden, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Atikokan and Fort Frances made a joint presentation to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance yesterday.

Marc Belcaen made the presentation and says hospitals in this regionare forced to provide a wide array of services out of necessity.

Belcaen adds due to vast distances between communities and harsh weather conditions, its important to be able to provide as many health care services as possible closer to home.
