A couple of second place finishes for Kenora teams over the weekend.The Thomas Aquinas Saints boys hockey team was in Grand Rapids, Minnesota for the Star of the North Tournament.
The Saints went through the round-robin undefeated and met up with Elk River from Minneapolis in the tournament final.
Elk River Edged T.A. 3-2, giving the Saints the Silver medal for the second year in a row.
Meanwhile, the Northwest Triple "a" PeeWee All-Stars skated into Brandon for the Tournament of
Champions.
The All-Stars also went through the round-robin undefeated, but played the host Brandon Wheat Kings
in the A-side final.
The Wheat Kings scored four quick goals to start the third period and went on to a 6-2 victory.
Nick Hakala and Mason Desautels scored for the Northwest All-Stars, which is a team made up of
players from Kenora, Dryden, Fort Frances and Sioux Lookout.
