The Northwest Region of the OPP have a new forensic identification unit in Kenora.Commissioner Chris Lewis was in town for the grand opening of the facility on Friday.
Lewis says the building was needed for the safety of officers.
He added the facility ensures no evidence they inspect gets contaminated.
