Despite frigid temperatures over the past couple of weeks, the weather this past December was pretty average.
Environment Canada Climatologist, Geoff Coulson says while we received a bit more snow than usual, temperatures were pretty normal.
Coulson says the cold, clear weather will likely remain with us for the forseeable future, with temperatures moderating slightly by the weekend.

Rickford on Proroguing Parliment
The Member of Parliament for the Kenora Riding is defending the government's decision to suspend the current sitting of the House of Commons.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper prorogued parliament until March which will kill a number of bills currently on the order paper.
Greg Rickford says that will not affect all bills, including the private members bill to kill the Federal Long gun Registry.
Rickford suggests the delay in the next sitting of Parliament will mean that he will be able to spend more time in the riding meeting with his constituents.
